Kodak film lovers will love this new Capture One Style Pack from Mastin Labs.
We have made it pretty well known that we really enjoy using Capture One here at the Phoblographer. All of the staff use it due to its great design, and its superior editing abilities over its rivals. One thing that has been lacking though is third party support when it comes to Style Packs. This all changed with the update to Capture One 12, and now Style Packs are coming out thick and fast. The latest one to hit the market is a doozy. A recent report on Imaging Resources confirmed the release of the new Style Pack for Capture One. Presets are of course a great way to edit your images if you are looking for speed and consistency across your library. You can either use them as a solid foundation and tweak them a little, or you can leave them as is. The choice is yours. It’s hard to ignore a pack like this one though that will include film emulations for Kodak Gold 200, Kodak Ektar 100, and Kodak Tri-X 400. These are all classics that lend themselves to many different genres of photography.
There are also other variations included too including hard light, soft light, hard shadows, and soft shadows. Custom balances like open shade, cloudy, daylight, tungsten and more are there, and so is the option to choose between the classic 35mm look, and even the look and feel of Medium Format. With just a single click of your mouse you can get that classic film look.
The pack also features three unique looks; bright and vivid, gold and lush, and black and white tones. Mastin Labs claim that the emulations also recreate the micro contrast of the real films too, which is no doubt something film lovers will enjoy.
