It was a little while back that I started seeing leather, wood and old school aluminum incorporated into photo gear with Cokin’s offerings; but the new MeFOTO Roadtrip Leather Edition takes that and adds even more practicality to the design. We’ve previously reviewed the MeFOTO Roadtrip tripod and thoroughly enjoyed it; and with the new MeFOTO Roadtrip Leather Edition tripod, there is even more to love. The design seems updated to provide even more versatility. Does it completely change the game? Not really; but it surely adds more flavor to the world of tripods–and monopods!

Not so long ago, the news of Fujifilm killing off its famed Acros 100 black and white film sent many of us scrambling for available stocks. The emulsion in 35mm and 120 formats will be officially discontinued in October this year. And yet, Fujifilm was recently reported to be looking into the possibility of bringing back its black and white films.
The story of Yashica is one of an underdog that is trying and riding on the sympathies of many people; but they probably just made one of the biggest mistakes in Kickstarter history. The company told backers earlier this year that their cameras and the production was being delayed. The reason: they wanted to make a better product. Fair enough, I guess. So instead of May 2018, we were supposed to receive our cameras at the end of July–which is now. I switched my tonality to “we” because I personally am a backer, and to that end, I’m the source of this news. Today, we received the weirdest and perhaps most perplexing update ever.
Pinhole photography is as simple and basic as it gets when it comes to creating images, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to make impressive work out of it. After seeing his gorgeous handmade pinhole cameras made out of driftwood, I believe we no longer have any excuse to take on crafting our own pinhole cameras — and getting experimental with it in the process. I’m sure that seeing something that is typically ignored made into something beautiful, unique, and functional is nothing short of inspiring.
