Just in time for CES 2015, Canon is showing off their brand new connect station that they previously showed in concept form years ago at Canon EXPO. According to the company’s press release the device is designed to let the user “connect to multiple compatible imaging devices allowing users to easily store, view and share images and videos.” The CS100 stores 1TB of memory, and features WiFi and NFC connectivity. The content (JPEG, RAW(CR2), MP4, MOV and AVCHD)Â can then be viewed on a connected television. But you can also view, upload and download images from your smartphone, tablet, or PC via the browser–which sounds a bit like a personal FTP upload system.
The user can choose to either dump the images wirelessly or connect an SD card or CF card to the CS100. The latter may probably save the battery life of your camera.
Want one? The Canon CS100 Connect Station starts out at $299.99. But that’s not all that Canon is announcing at CES 2015. They’re updated their point and shoots. Specs and more info is after the jump.
