While most landscape photographers would swear by the magic of shooting during the golden and blue hours, there are amazing landscape photography taken outside of such narrow windows of opportunity. Mika Suutari braves the cold of the night shooting breathtaking scenery of Finland lit only by the moon, creating uniquely surreal and almost painting like quality images.

One of the best things that you can do as a portrait photographer is find a way to really make your subject look like they’re popping off of the screen at your viewer (technically speaking of course!) With modern lenses it’s very simple to do, but even if you don’t have those or the latest and greatest software it’s still also quite possible if you just take a few careful steps.
Photography magazines, at least the mainstream on store shelve types, are more or less a thing of the past (there are still a few who persist). But some smaller publishers are using capabilities of today’s technology to market niche magazines to specific demographics. One new such project is She Shoots Film, and their first issue is almost ready for market.
In very recent times, lots of companies have started to tout the fact that they can create wide angle lenses with little to no distortion: and the Venus Optics Laowa 12mm f2.8 lens is one of those that puts itself to a claim like that. If you’re from the camp of photographers that highly doubts what the company is capable of because you’re a Canon, Nikon or Sigma user, then I implore you to consider opening your mind up a bit.
Earlier today at WPPI 2017 Sony unveiled their new FE 100mm F2.8 STF G-Master Lens, we had the pleasure of being able to play with the lens a little bit on the show floor so here are some initial impressions on Sony’s latest G-Master lens announcement.
It’s no secret that Japan Camera Hunter Street Pan 400 film has become very popular with street photographers and just those curious about film. It’s available in 35mm right now, but Bellamy Hunt, the Japan Camera Hunter himself, tells us that it’s coming in 120 and that we should expect it before the end of the year.
Arguably, the biggest company in mobile photography lenses is Moment: and today they’re announcing a few new products that are bound to be as great as their previous offerings. The company got started on Kickstarter, and it’s where they’re returning to get their newest Wide Angle lens, battery case and photo case going.
