Leica has unveiled the latest in their line of TL series cameras today with some significant improvements over the original model that was introduced back in 2014. Those improvements include a vastly (as Leica claims) improved AF system, specifically in AF-C mode, which would allow the new TL to better track and shoot action.
Adding a human as a foreground subject in a vastly wide breathtaking scenery often invites the feeling of loneliness in landscape photography. Pawel Franik explores these moments of loneliness in his award-winning minimalist photo-series called “On His Own”.
Minimalism works best when it comes to effectively isolating the main subject in photographs without unnecessary distractions. Hengki Koentjoro from Indonesia successfully employed the minimalist approach in capturing the lives and objects surrounding the ocean in his photo series “Ocean Recital”.

Russian designer, Artem Emelyanov, has unveiled The New Woodman, a leather case for GoPro cameras. The case fits over the standard GoPro housing and comes with a leather strap which can be slung over the shoulder or neck. The case’s construction is completely hand-crafted and uses a variety of materials, including Güterman thread, which is known for its durability and longevity. Also included with the case is a circular lens that slips over the existing GoPro lens adding to the natural/vintage aesthetic of the case. Check out the video below along with product images to see it in action.
The Pentax K-1 is a camera that is great in many ways. It offers features that Canon, Nikon and Sony just don’t in a full frame DSLR while also keeping the price point fairly modest. Pentax’s strategy for years was always to take professional grade features and bring them down to the consumer and enthusiast. For the most part, the Pentax K-1 does that. With cool things like Astrotracer, WiFi, Composition adjustment, and arguably the weirdest LCD screen in the industry, the K-1 is a camera that will suit the needs of most professional photographers when paired with the right lenses.
For years, Pentax has made very well-built DSLRs. With the K-1 out, we asked for permission from Pentax to be able to do the same durability tests that we’ve done with their previous cameras–running it under a faucet. Pentax gave us the go ahead, but also said to be sure that certain ports and enclosures were all sealed.
