There was a lot of hostility towards the original release of Photoshop Touch and I feel this is the version they should have started with. Originally the app suffered from low resolution support (1600px) and with version 1.3 it now supports images up to 12mp, Apple’s iPad supports images up to 18mp in most cases so there is still room to grow. I couldn’t imagine spending a lot of time on a special project and then having it restricted to such a small size.
Along with the update there are quite a few new features which users have been looking forward to like a gesture to toggle to 100% view, a three-finger tap to fit the image to the screen and a new pixel nudging mode for precision edits. Photoshop Touch 1.3 adds the above features as well as Retina support for the new iPad. Two new effects have been added, shred and colorize. Support for images in Apple’s Photostream as well as smoother animations for the interface.
This update is free for existing users of the Android and iOS versions. The full version if you do not own it is $9.99 in your local app store.
