It’s easy to see the need to make something for the selfie crowd, hence the decision to introduce the Polaroid Mint, a 2-in-1 photo printing camera, during the recent IFA in Berlin and earlier at the CE Week in New York. But really, we hope Polaroid would give up the ZINK stuff and make more of what they became famous for: instant film.
The Fujifilm XT3 was introduced today, ushering Fujifilm into its fourth generation of the mirrorless APS-C camera market. Boasting an all-new back-illuminated 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor as well as the X-Processor 4 processor, the Fujifilm X-T3 promises to deliver remarkable image quality, significantly improved AF performance, and outstanding tracking performance of fast-moving subjects along with blackout-free burst shooting. Videographers will be happy to learn that the Fujifilm X-T3 is the first APS-C mirrorless camera capable of 4K/60P 10bit recording.
In my mind, the film Renaissance is bigger than we’d like to think; but it can be even larger. When speaking to friends who handle sales in the film world, the sales of film itself isn’t necessarily up anymore than it was compared to digital. However, the sales of Instax and instant film is really up there. With folks like Kendal Jenner and Chris Helmsworth using the Contax T2, people have been looking to get their hands on it. The prices on eBay skyrocket to $2,000 and even higher in some cases. Indeed, it is a popular film camera that is highly sought after partially due to its celebrity status. While many of us know that it’s not the camera that takes the picture (it’s the photographer, you dummy) there is certainly appeal about the Contax T2.
The new Canon EOS R camera was announced tonight. As expected and reported on previously, it is a full frame mirrorless camera that offers up a whole lot. While there surely is innovation with this camera that is very unique to the Canon EOS R, the major innovations arguably come with the new lenses that were also announced.

Canon not only announced the new full frame Canon EOS R mirrorless camera, but they also announced four new lenses and three new adapters for their DSLR lenses. I posted a joke the other day to my personal Instagram: I can only have fun when I bring three or more cameras with me. Except in some ways, it isn’t a joke. I’ll bring an Instant film camera and any combination of either two film cameras, two digital or one of each. These cameras are what I’ll take with me for a day of actually getting out there and photo walking–which has become more and more of not only a rediscovered hobby of mine, but a way of life. Since giving it a genuine effort since the beginning of the year, I’ve lost 35lbs, beat obesity, have a normalized heart rate, a better blood pressure, and I’ve challenged my creative mind in ways that I never had the time to do previously.
Learn the basics of color in this four-part video series. Color is one of those things that are literally all around us all the time. As such, we have gotten so used to its presence that we overlook it quite often. But if you pause for a moment to think about it, you’ll remember its …

There are two things that immediately come to mind when we speak of the late great American photographer Garry Winogrand. First, the “snapshot aesthetic,” a label that had been stuck to his work (and one that he apparently rejected). And second, the body of work that was left behind after his sudden death in 1984 which included 35,000 prints, 6,600 rolls of film, 45,000 color transparencies, and about 22,000 contact sheets.
