Mindshift Gear has announced two bags; the Exposure 13 and Exposure 15
Wildlife Photographers, Landscape Photographers; Outdoor Photographers in general. They all have pretty demanding needs from the bags they choose to carry their gear in. Unlike other niches of photography where spending time indoors can be a large part of the job, for these outdoor photographers being out in the elements and bearing the brunt of Mother Nature’s rage is just another day at the office. They need bags able to hold up to the elements and keep their gear safe.
Mindshift Gear has a history of producing quality bags for photographers and today they have announced their new Exposure line which are being positioned as a bag outdoor photographers will want to have a look at.
The Exposure bags really are aimed at those who often find themselves out in the elements and dealing with Mother Nature’s temper tantrums. Mindshift Gear is not only claiming these bags to be weather-resistant, which is the common terms everyone uses. No, they have gone a step further and are claiming these Exposure bags to be ‘Storm-Resistant’ thanks to waterproof sailcloth panels, storm flaps, and water-repellent DWR fabrics. Needless to say, they have spent a great deal of time thinking about these bags being out in the elements, not as an afterthought as is the case with many bags, but as a core component of the bags.
The Exposure bags will also come with a special cross-body strap that will act as a stabilizer when you need to be more active and don’t want the bag to be flailing around as can sometimes happen with messenger style bags. Additionally, once the time comes that you no longer require easy access to your gear, the bags also include a waterproof rain cover to assure the gear inside is protected completely from the elements.
If you are interested, there are two versions of the Exposure bags, a 13” model and a 15” model; both of which are also available in Black and ‘Solar Flare’ color styles. The biggest difference between the two is what size laptop they can accommodate, with the somewhat obvious distinction being that the 13” model can hold up to a 13” laptop and the 15” being able to hold – you guessed it – up to a 15” laptop. They are both also able to accommodate a 10” tablet in a special zippered pocket.
In terms of pricing, you won’t find much of a difference there: the 15” model rings in at $169.99 and the 13” model at $159.99. Both are now available for purchase over on the Mindshift Gear website as well as through retail partners. If you are interested in more details you can find them on the Mindshift Gear website for the Exposure 13 and Exposure 15.
