“The highlight is 800% harder multi-coating on the UV and %200 harder coatings on the Circular Polarizer. This is 800% / 200% harder than the HD2 filters…” said our Hoya rep in an email to us today. That’s quite some extra toughness, but Hoya is promising it with their latest filters along with 4% tougher glass. But that’s not all: they’re promising no loss of color, contrast or image quality at all!
The new filters range from 37m to 82mm and are made in Japan with an aluminum frame. That’s not like B&W’s brass frames, but still much better than most off-brands. At the moment though, only the 52-82mm filters are available for purchase.
