The Hasselblad H6D-400C Can Shoot Up to 400 Megapixels

With the Hasselblad H6D-400C, you can get 400MP images using the multi-shot feature.

Though you may rarely need it, the new Hasselblad H6D-400C multishot camera is claiming to have some really big tech inside. For starters, it’s a camera body using the Hasselblad full frame 645 100MP sensors with 16 bit RGB color readout and 15 stops of dynamic range. If you shoot in TIIF multishot with 6 images to create a 400MP photo, your photos can be up to 2.4GB in size. Additionally, it had flash sync up to 1/2000th. When you’re in the studio, you’ll be able to utilize the USB 3.0 C readout when you’re tethered. What’s more, it also shoots 4K video and has a 3″ touchscreen LCD.

There’s a New Autofocusing Samyang 35mm f1.4 FE Lens for Sony a7 and a9 Cameras

Sony camera users rejoice: you’ve got yet another autofocus lens in the form of the new Samyang 35mm f1.4 FE offering. Just announced today, the Samyang 35mm f1.4 FE is the fourth offering of autofocus lenses Samyang has created for the Sony FE lineup of cameras. That means that the Sony Zeiss 35mm f1.4 has a competitor, though this one is slated to be a lower end option (it doesn’t include weather sealing). To that end, you won’t want to take your camera and lens out in the rain unless you’ve got some Sony or Zeiss glass on there.

When photographers think about backdrops, many of us tend to try to be savvy–but the more discerning amongst us tend to reach for Oliphant backdrops. In fact, according to a recent blog post on the Retouchist, they can command a pretty penny. They’re used by a number of fantastic photographers including Annie Leibovitz and a number of others. You’re bound to have seen them in many portrait photos and they’re known for giving off the look of a painting in a photo.

The New Lomography Color Negative F²/400 Film Is the Result of a Crazy Experiment

Today we’re getting a brand new film in the form of Lomography Color Negative F²/400 Film. Well, at least it’s kind of a new film. The company describes the origin of the film as being originally made by an Italian filmmaker. In 2010, they bought the last of it; and then they let it age in the Czech Republic. While doing this, they did some experiments with it. Seven years later, they took it out and they’re really happy with the results.

Why I Chose The Olympus EP-2 Over the Fuji X100

Her name is Mary-Jane: and she is my beloved Olympus EP-2. I’ve compared it against the Fuji X100 before, and many people couldn’t tell the difference between the two cameras’ image quality. But beyond the image quality, there are many reasons why one would want to consider other cameras over the Fuji X100. Now don’t get me wrong, I gave the X100 a very good review and it is indeed a well loved camera, but in the end we must not only remember that it’s the photographer that takes the images but also that some tools are easier to work with than others.
