The Archos 9 PC Tablet is Archos’ latest touch screen tablet. Its being advertised as the thinnest tablet on the market, while still being able to boast the high performance of a high end netbook without risk of over heating. This will be the second tablet we’ll be taking a peak at that uses some form of Windows 7. Lets see if the Archos can hold a candle to everything else we have looked at this week.
New York City is perhaps the most photogenic city in the world, no matter what others may think. Many people come to New York for vacation time and love to go sight-seeing. Depending on who you ask, New Yorkers either love or hate tourists, especially when it comes to taking pictures. Here are some tips on how to not annoy New Yorkers.
Hopefully this works.
Vincent talked about tablet PCs for photo editing, but we’ve received questions for them in regards to editing videos as well. With the prime options for the category being available and debatable right now, it’s time we take a look into the possibility of using them for video editing while at an event, covering a story abroad, etc. Some are better than others, but it all makes sense in the end.
The next tablet I’m going to take a look at is The Dell Mini 5. Not much is known about the Dell Mini 5 yet aside from that is has a 5 inch multi touch screen, runs a customized version of the Android OS, and uses a 1 GHZ Snap Dragon Processor. The Dell Mini 5 also doubles as a phone and supports wifi and bluetooth. The plus side of this is that the Android OS supports alot of apps that can only be rivaled with the iPhone/Pad/Touch OS. But does that do anything for us photographers?
Whether we like it or not, Valentine’s Day is coming up. As a holiday celebrating love, you’ll probably be shooting lots of couples. If you aren’t or even if you love Valentine’s Day, here are a couple of photos to make you smile and warm your heart.
Panasonic announced their two new flagship model camcorders: the HDC-HS700 and HDC-TM700. Each one has sensors capable of delivering Full HD video using their 3MOS sensors. Outstanding features include the new Power O.I.S. system that I talked about in the ZS-7 posting, 5.1 Channel surround sound zoom microphone, and an Auto Power LCD. Press release after the jump.
A problem that many people run into with their cameras is the length of their battery life. Most DSLRs has stellar battery life, but when it comes to little point-and-shoots some problems occur due to the smaller size and also general ways that consumers and users overall use their cameras. Here are some pointers and things to keep in mind when using your camera if you want to keep the battery life ticking.
USAToday has a nice article on how the DSLR industry is really booming right now. Because of the growth in DSLR sales and DSLR videography due to dropping prices of entry level models, getting better video than a camcorder is possible for normal folk. The article also says though that items are essential to be coupled with the DSLRs when shooting video. That’s where we’ve got you covered in our list. This is why I love my 5D Mk II so much.
As the Leica D-Lux 4 field review continues, I explored the High ISO settings last night. This little camera delivered some results that pleased me and that also made me gawk at the images on screen. It’s really up to you and your own judgement. As a point-and-shoot with a larger sensor, we can’t expect it to have 5D Mk II type image quality but some of the images that come out will still be very usable, especially with use on Flickr. The images here have been resized specifically to be with Flickr’s Large setting. More analysis after the jump.
