Over a decade ago, I did the switch to Fujifilm cameras and embraced a look that I’d only otherwise get with lots of post-production. Since then, I’ve never wanted to look back as the camera system gives me everything I need. So too, have so many photographers that use Fujifilm cameras to accomplish many of the gigs and tasks that they need to do. If you’ve been eyeing a new camera with a slew of sweet new lenses, Fujifilm is probably the way to go for you. And with a special coupon code that’s exclusive to Phoblographer’s readers, you’ve got a bit more temptation.

Your Colors Just Got a Major Upgrade

Fujifilm’s colors are made possible with the X Trans sensor. This is an APS-C sensor that works in part with the processor to deliver images that look so much more like film. It ranges from Velvia for landscapes all the way to Classic Chrome to mimic the look of those vintage magazines. This helps give various photographers several different customized looks.

Better yet, these looks can be applied to your RAW images easily in most popular post-production software.

Trust me: every time I look at photos of my happy times shot on Classic Negative at Daylight white balance, I fall in love with photography just a bit more. It’s a blessing to know that I can shoot the photos, port them to my phone, and share them immediately because I really got it right in-camera.

Affordable, Small Lenses With Innovation

Fujifilm has a bunch of small f1.4 and f2 lenses that most photographers would really enjoy using — especially if you like prime lenses. But there are also lots of lenses they offer with major innovations. Here’s a bit of a list:

  • Fujifilm 50mm f1.0 R WR is the first autofocus 50mm f1 lens to hit the market in over three decades.
  • Fujifilm 18mm f1.4 is the first autofocusing 28mm f1.4 equivalent lens to be made for mirrorless cameras that we’ve seen in a while.
  • Fujifilm has the largest assortment of weather-resistant lenses. We’ve tested and reviewed them all too!

Retro or Not?

Most of Fujifilm’s cameras are known for their retro-superior ergonomics. But if you’re not looking for that after coming from a more DSLR-style camera, then there’s the X-H2 and the X-H2S — which you can get FREE ground shipping with when you use our special code. Scroll up for the details on that.

Those cameras have been winning all sorts of awards for innovations, reliability, and much more.

The Look All The Clients Want

Peruse through the pages of the NYTimes, Eater, Vogue, and so many more publications. All of those photos look like they were shot on film. And if they aren’t, then they’re either done with presets or with post-production if they’re not being shot on Fujifilm. Some photographers like to say that the gear doesn’t matter — but lots of editors want that look. Combine it with a bit of direct flash output and the switch to Fujifilm will make so much more sense.

The Switch to Fujifilm Means You’re More a Part of the Image-Making Process

The idea behind using a Fujifilm camera is that you’re supposed to be an active part of the image-making process. It’s not supposed to be as automated with automatic settings. So because of that, the design of the layout really makes you choose focusing points and more if you’re not already using scene detection. This is really the case with continuous autofocus modes. When you’re part of the process and not shooting mindlessly, you make more thoughtful images. And in the end, that means that you’ve got a higher yield of better photos.
