No clues yet as to which they will be, but rumors say new film simulations will likely come with the upcoming Fujifilm X-T3.
We could be close to hearing about the release of the Fujifilm X-T3, even ahead of this year’s Photokina, so we might as well countdown to it one rumor at a time. The most recent rumor we’ve learned from Fuji Rumors says that the X-T3 will most likely come with some new film simulations.
“Thanks to the introduction of a new and more powerful X processor in the Fujifilm X-T3, Fujifilm will give us also new film simulations,” said a new source. However, Fuji Rumors’ new source didn’t go as far as saying which simulations they will be, so all we can do at the moment is hope that we get some pretty rare emulsions in the mix. In the meantime, if you’re new to the Fujifilm X Series but also like the look of film, you may want to learn more about the film simulations at your disposal from Fujifilm GFX.
Meanwhile, we’ve also started thinking about what we want for the X-T2 successor, such as better battery life, a microphone jack for serious video makers, and a more comfortable battery grip. We’ve also got word from Nokishita of the X-T3 being registered in China, so the camera actually won’t be manufactured in Japan; a first for a Fujifilm flagship camera.
Fuji Rumors also gives us the speculated X-T3 specs so far:
- Announcement at or before Photokina 2018 (end of September)
- 26MP X-Trans sensor
- Possibly stacked sensor (trusted sources yet to confirm this)
- A new processor
- No IBIS
- Touch screen
- Better battery performance (probably by keeping same battery, since Fujifilm registered a new battery charger for NP-W126s batteries, as Fuji Rumors also reported)
- New film simulation
- Made in China
- Shipping in October/November
For now, we will keep our eyes peeled for more developments, and our fingers crossed that we’ll get some pretty interesting new film simulations along with the X-T3!
