Weekend Humor isn’t meant to be taken seriously. So don’t, ya rube. Although, given the timeliness of this post, we wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be true, and for that, we’re sorry.
Just when you thought this Miley Cyrus thing died, it rose again like a derriere that is not fit to do what more capable women are able to do. I would bring you up to speed on what happened Sunday night, but the image above says enough. The social media sphere exploded with reactions, and nearly every website cashed in on the buzz. Feeds everywhere were littered with attempts to make this tragic act a part of meme culture, and one spunky developer sought to introduce the Miley episode to the world of photography with an app called “Mileyfy”.
The app was met with muted reactions from serious mobile photographers, and it received accolades from those who don’t really know what they’re doing. The app uses face detection to determine if there are people in your photo, and it prompts you to select the one you want to desecrate. With the tap of a finger, your friend now has Miley closer to him than he ever wanted.
We reached out to the developer to see why exactly he’d make something like this. He did not return our request for a comment with a comment. Rather, he sent us back the photographs from our Staff Bio page after they’ve been “Mileyfied”. We wager that this stems from low self-esteem or general hatred for life.
That’s all there really is to say about this. Maybe it’s a deep-seeded sense of schadenfreude, but we couldn’t stay away from this topic. We assure you, however, that this is the last time you’ll hear from us on this, and we hope to all that is good and holy that this post isn’t prescient.
