It’s not everyday that we see a company offer a modified version of a camera for rent. But in the case of Lens Rentals, they’re offering a hack that isn’t even authorized by Canon. Earlier this year, Magic Lantern found a RAW CineDNG output on the 5D Mk III and after lots of work they found a way to record it and make it usable for shooting video. Like that, the 5D Mk III became one of the best cameras for shooting video.
A lot of folks must have been asking for the hacked version of the camera or doing it themselves, so as far as customer service goes, Lens Rentals is making it easier for users.
