Everpix is a photo storage company that is taking your uploaded photos and trying to make them easier for consumers to find and view them. In our brief demo from the company, we basically concluded that it is doing the equivalent of what photo editors and stock photographers do with metadata but in a much more intuitive way that makes it easier for consumers. Today, they’re announcing Explore View. Here’s how it works: as your photos are uploaded, they are stored in their cloud service and the app can help you to find similar photos that you may have shot before. It does this through color recognition (something to a reverse Google Image search) and through finding moments–which are essentially all of the images you may have taken around a couple of hours. They brand this specifically as finding content; which really worked such as with food and landscapes–and cats. I’ve seriously never seen this many cat photos in a product demo, ever.
The company is also unveiling their first account option which includes unlimited storage of a yearâs worth of full-resolution photos. Premium accounts with unlimited storage of photos, from anytime, are available for $49.99 a year or $4.99 a month for a paid activation. iPad and iPhone users can also print any of their photos, within about an hour, at 8,000 Walgreens across the U.S.
Everpix is currently available for Apple iPhones, iPads and Android devices. For the best results, we recommend also downloading their Mac and PC app to sync all of your photos.
