Low light photography is now a part of many other genres, such as street, portrait, photojournalism, and event photography. While most photographers focus on getting a camera that offers higher megapixels, it is also important to consider devices that deliver this alongside good high ISO performance. Today, we take a look at the cameras that can achieve the best of both worlds.
Leica SL3

What makes it great? The camera features the single fastest 60MP sensor, focusing well in low light and tracking people of color with ease. You get dual native ISO, which means the camera performs well when shooting at ISO between 100 and 320. At the same time, the high ISO images are the cleanest we have seen. The high ISO results are also cleaner than the M11 and the Q3. It captures details well, and you can play around with the colors in the RAW files.
Who is it for? While SL3 is designed for photojournalists, it can also be used by street, event, and wedding photographers.
Why is it unique? The SL3 features a 60MP full-frame camera and boasts an IP durability rating. It also features a power mode, which puts the camera to sleep, allowing it to last longer without draining the battery. It is small, lightweight, and features multiple dials for easy operation. Overall, the camera is quite durable and it’s worth every cent you are spending on it.

Compared to the Sony a7r V and the Sony a7c R, the Leica SL3 is much, much cleaner.

Sony A9 III

What makes it great? The autofocus is fast, but it is not as fast as the SL3. However, it makes up for it in the image quality department. You get good skin tones, nice colors that require minimal editing, and versatile RAW files. Images at ISO ISO 12,800 are nice and clean. The camera is designed in a way to support your needs, without hampering your growth.
Who is it for? Wildlife photography, sports photography, photojournalism, and weddings. It is also exceptional if you are into creative photography or depend on a flash too often.
Why is it unique? A 24MP camera, the Sony a9 III is the first photo-centric camera to have a global shutter, and it also allows tracking at 120fps. This means you can do plenty of stuff if you are interested in using a flash. It also offers low-light autofocus to -5 EV, weather resistance, and a 9.44 million-dot OLED EVF with 120 fps.

If you’re a photographer that uses a lot of off-camera flash, then this is the single best camera you can get on the market right now.
