Some camera accessories help one get the best of their device. An example is a trusted camera strap, which helps photographers to lug their gear around their shoulders with ease. A good camera strap is not just stylish, but also functional for various genre photographers. Ensuring that image-makers get the best of this, WANDRD has launched a new strap system on Kickstarter today that meets their needs. Have a look.
According to the company, the new straps feature a magnetic mechanism, which has been in development for over two and a half years. With the strap, photographers can switch between cameras really fast, without losing security. Thus, people on the move will certainly adore the creation.
The WANDRD camera straps use Magnetic CoreLock and Torus Link system. The design features a self-centering magnetic connection, which will allow photographers to attach or detach their camera relying on just one hand. There are also dual-sided spring-loaded locking buttons, which are designed to engage automatically “under load” for a secure connection.
Instead of utilizing existing materials from other brands, WANDRD states that they have developed every part of the system from scratch. This includes the Magnetic CoreLock, Torus Links, Torus Mount, and custom Liquid Nylon Tubular Webbing.
At the moment, the magnetic camera strap includes three options: a 30mm full-size strap, a 15mm slimmer strap called Lite, and a 15mm minimalist wrist strap (pictured above). Each of them features the same magnetic design and is available in colors like black, green and red.
The company has also integrated on-body storage for neck straps that enables photographers “to clip the strap to itself when shooting strap-free.” Each neck strap is said to have four Torus Links that will make it easy to help the magnetic connector attach to multiple camera bodies or switch between them. The link also includes a built-in visual wear indicator to signal when the replacement is needed.
For those who already have a camera strap, the company is introducing a DIY Kit that can refit existing straps into the WANDRD‘s Magnetic CoreLock ecosystem. This will help to extend the camera strap universe to “legacy leather straps, OEM camera straps, and other compatible designs.”
WANDRD will launch the system on Kickstarter first, via a limited-time introductory pricing. These camera straps will then be available on the company’s website from November 7th, 2026.
