When it comes to choosing a device, many young photographers prefer something that is small, easy to carry, and offers a sense of nostalgia. Sure, you have multiple models that fit the bill from recent years, but they can often cost a lot. In that regard, the best option for some is looking at devices older than a decade. If you are someone like this, then here are three models that you can opt for.
Sigma DP2x

Sigma has some wonderful lenses in their portfolio. However, they have also developed some fantastic cameras. An example is the DP2x, which features a 5MP Foveon X3 sensor and a 41mm fixed lens. The camera has cheap buttons, but the features make up for it. The design makes it ideal for street photography, and the image quality is exceptional. As we said in our review, “The RAW files are flexible and the lens and sensor combo produce a surprisingly good amount of detail. I really didn’t feel the need to add clarity or sharpening to most of my photos.” The only catch is that you have to rely on Sigma’s own software to process the images.
Fujifilm X10

The Fujifilm X10 has a 12MP 2/3-inch EXR CMOS sensor with a 28 to 112mm lens. The camera has nice retro ergonomics, a black leather finish, a large LCD, and a pop-up flash. The camera offers a good focusing system and even performs better than the Canon 5D Mk II. The image quality lacks a bit, but you can always edit a bit. High ISO works well at up to ISO 3200, and the grain results in film-like quality. If you can get your hands on this, then one must certainly purchase it. The device is ideal for travel and street photographers who want a pocketable experience.
Olympus XZ-1

The Olympus camera features a 10MP 1/1.63-inch sensor along with a 28 to 112mm lens and a pop-up flash. The camera comes with a large LCD, and the design is pretty fantastic for young photographers. The autofocus system has been improved and it also “focuses better in low light than the EPL-2.” The image quality is quite versatile, offers fantastic color depth and better dynamic range. One of the reasons is the Zukio lens as well. For those looking for a micro four thirds, then this is a camera to go for.
