Canon cameras have been pretty popular amongst photographers of all ages and backgrounds. From the launch AE-1 to the recently introduced R5 II, Canon’s cameras are revered by many. While they have a versatile range, this model from the company seems to be selling for much more than one had imagined. Have a look.
On eBay, Canon’s 2017 launched 6D Mk II was sold for about $19,000. The purchase was made in January this year, but the oddest part is why did someone pay that much money for a DSLR?

In fact, there have been no other offerings from the seller itself since that camera was sold. The post also does not show any details, either, such as if the sensor was modified or if the lens was something different than a usual Canon camera.
A Canon 6D Mk II features a 26MP full frame sensor, an ISO up to 100-40,000 and a DIGIC 7 processor. The camera also features a 6.5-stop burst rate, and a 45MP autofocus. A camera, today, does not cost more than $1,200, on average. And if there were an infrared sensor fixed into it, it still would not cost more than $2000.

Either way, the Canon 6D II was a mixed bag. The camera was best for those shooting in auto mode, and it seemed like a full frame version of the Rebel series cameras, designed for beginners.
It will give users the feeling of acting and shooting like a pro in the hand when in truth it won’t give you the images a more modern camera will provide. The Canon 6D Mk II is a good camera, but a few years ago (maybe three) it would have been a pretty damned good one. If you’re going to shoot in RAW, keep in mind that you should underexpose your photos and then push them. No matter what, you’re going to get good colors.
In our review, we found the camera better suited for college-level photography enthusiasts, since the shortcomings will only push photographers to get better. Furthermore, it is helpful for those who want to get better with limited features in highly tech-driven cameras. This device is better for those who don’t care about technology, as much as they care about improving themselves.
Keeping this in mind, there are other cameras that should have commanded more price, such as the 5D Mk IV, but even then, a whopping $19,000 is the price that Leica cameras fetch, even on the used market. Either way, it is one of those odd instances where nothing makes sense. But you just have to go with it.
