Fujifilm cameras have been pretty fantastic in terms of color, dynamic range, and resolution. The company has introduced a diverse range of models, some of which offer great features even in the APS-C range. Landscape photography is a genre that may seem to need only full frame models, but that is far from true. Today, we look at some nice APS-C offerings that are perfect for a job of this nature — and our favorite GFX option, too!
Fujifilm XT5

The X-T5 features a new 40MP sensor, animal detection, and an improved EVF, among other improvements. The screen tilts out and to the side, and you have various knobs and dials to make your life easy. The body is sturdy, and it is a bit lighter than the previous camera. Now, the image quality is amazing, and you get some lovely colors. The result is sharp and detailed, and the updated processor helps to get nice images at up to ISO 3200. After that, the images lose details. The RAW file is a nice addition, and you can recover the images “that were underexposed by about two stops.” As for the autofocus, it is slow, but since you are shooting landscapes, this can be easily avoided.
Fujifilm XH2

The Fujifilm XH2 is another 40MP camera that is top of the line. It is a weather-resistant camera, but the model is complicated to navigate. Where the camera certainly helps is with RAW files, and it allows one the chance to get extra depth from the sensor. The JEPG is pretty fantastic, and it makes it quite easy to shoot with exposure preview. As we explained in our review, “At high ISOs, the RAW files aren’t so versatile. But at lower ISOs, there is so much beautiful depth. On top of that, applying the film simulations in Capture One makes the photos look like vivid dreams.” At high ISO, the images are quite detailed, bearing that you don’t edit the files much. The camera’s focusing system is fast; it can detect people with ease, even when they are against the light.
Fujifilm GFX 100S II

The only medium format camera, the GFX 100S II, features a 102 MP sensor, which offers plenty of details for landscape photographers. The images are great, thanks to the film simulation, lenses, and the sensor. Since the device has a larger sensor, it generally struggles to capture fast-moving subjects, making it ideal for slower genres like landscapes. The colors are generally nice, and the high ISO result is good. This is a camera you do not have to complain about. The model has major updates in terms of better focus than its predecessor, and it makes it ideal for photographers who want to shoot environmental portraits.
