As 2025 is upon us, so is the introduction of newer devices that can help wedding, portrait, or street photographers. Godox, one of the most sought-after lighting companies, has launched three new on-camera flash designs, which will make the work of photographers far easier. What makes the flash so interesting is that it is lightweight and quite easy to carry.
Godox Mini Flashes for People On The Go
Of the three, the Chinese company has launched two mini flashes: iM20 and iM22. These compact flashes make it easy to mount on smaller cameras, especially when you don’t want to be hassled by weight. Designed for compact and travel cameras, the flashes can be used on DSLR and mirrorless cameras as an additional source when needed.

The iM20 weighs 31g and measures 3.9 x 3.8 x 29.5 cm. As for iM22, it is slightly heavier at 34g and measures 5.7 x 4.0 x 22 cm. Since they are small, they can work wonderfully well on Fujifilm and Nikon’s ZF. So, if you are a street photographer who often travels, these mini Godoz flashes can help you light up the scene easily. Similarly, portrait photographers or still-life photographers can also benefit from it.
These mini flashes are an upgraded version of the Godox iM30, which was launched last year, with an improved interface. The main difference between the two new flashes is their design. The iM20 is smaller and will be closer to the camera, an ideal choice for fixed-lens cameras. However, the iM22 would be better when using slightly larger lenses, as it is also taller in size.
Both flashes have an internal lithium battery, and their recycling time is just 3 seconds. There is a USB-C charging port, and each charge allows 440 full-power flashes.
iA32 Has a Tube
The iA32 is yet another entry from Godox. Its flat design makes it easy to attach to your camera. However, this flash is very different from the mini-series, as it has an adjustable flash tube. As a result, it offers -7° to 90°, which can be moved via a side dial, and you can angle the flash as you want. The iA32 has manual and auto modes, which is great for beginners and intermediate photographers.

Other key features are:
- Two AA NiMH batteries (recommended) or LR6 alkaline batteries.
- Flash Times (at 1/1 step): Approx. 490 flashes with rechargeable battery.
- Recycle Time (at 1/1 step): Approx. 2.5 seconds.
- Flash Power Steps: 8 levels, ranging from 1/128 to 1/1 with 1/3-step increments.
- Optical Trigger: S1/S2 (available in Manual mode).
- Hot shoe, Sync cord.
- Measuring 2.56” x 4.53” x 1.38”.
- 117g.
These Godox flashes can be a great option for a variety of uses. In fact, if you are heading to a party and have a small Fujifilm or Ricoh camera, they can be used to capture exciting images. As someone who enjoys shooting self-portraits, you can mount a gel on top of them to capture concept or experimental images, too.
However, you must also remember that these are smaller flashes, and they may not be as powerful as those you see professionals use. So, if that is okay with you, you must consider them. However, if you feel that you need more power, you have other offerings from Godox that can help you in your venture.
There is no price mentioned on the website yet. So, you may have to wait until it is officially available to order via Amazon.
