The EIZO ColorEDge CS2731 puts out 60w of power which means you don’t have to rely on your laptop charger.
One of the most overlooked photography accessories is the humble PC monitor: we stare at these screens for hours upon hours when we edit photos and videos. Yet, rarely do we make sure it is doing an excellent job of calibration and displaying the Adobe’s RGB color space, and that’s where EIZO comes in. EIZO has been making monitors for creatives for a long time, and the new EIZO ColorEdge CS2731 has a few tricks up its sleeve that can make your life as a photo and video editor easier. Join us after the break for all the deets.
The EIZO ColoEdge CS2731 is the first ColoeEdge monitor from the company featureing USB Type-C connectivity that can push out 60 watts of power. What this means for the end-user is that, with a single USB Type-C cable, creatives can display video, transmit USB signals, and supply power to connected devices like smartphones, laptops, and notebook PCs. The USB Type-C port provides enough power to even keep high-end notebook PCs charged.
Aside from being able to power your laptop or any connected device, the 27-inch 2560×1440 EIZO ColorEdge CS2731 can display 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. This feature means that if you convert your RAW images to Adobe RGB, the monitor will display colors as they are intended to be seen. The EIZO ColorEdge CS2731 also covers almost the entire CMYK color space as well, which is fantastic for those who print their images frequently. This feature means you will already be able to see on the screen how your print will look, which will save time and money.
To further enhance color correctness, the EIZO ColorEdge CS2731 features a unique digital uniformity equalizer (DUE), which corrects deviations in every tone across the screen. The ColorEdge CS2731 also supports EIZO’s ColorNavigator 7 color management software. Users will be able to calibrate their monitor quickly and reliably for predictable color results. The monitor also supports EIZO’s Quick Color Match software, which condenses the screen-to-print color matching process into just a few steps.
The CS2731 has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a brightness of 350 cd/m2. These will enable you to edit graphics and images accurately. The LCD panel is IPS (In-Plane Switching), which allows viewing angles of 178 degrees.
The ColorEdge CS2731 also features smooth gradations with the 10-bit display from a 16-bit LUT (look-up-table), USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI-D inputs, it is compatible with the optional light-shielding hood, and it comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. The EIZO ColorEdge CS2731 will start shipping during the 1st quarter of 2020, but no pricing details have been given out just yet.
