This camera carrying system is aiming to revolutionize the way we carry our cameras.
Camera straps are something we all need, and they are something most of us never really put much thought into. We often grab the first strap that comes into sight, and we then mumble and complain for the rest of the day about how uncomfortable the strap is, or how we wish there could be a better-designed strap. That’s where SPINN DESIGN comes into play. SPINN.DESIGN claims they have designed the most user-friendly, most comfortable camera carrying system, and they have started a campaign on Kickstarter so that they can bring it to the masses.
The SPIN.DESIGN CP.01 camera carrying system looks like many other camera straps and camera carrying systems at first glance. But upon taking a closer look you’ll notice that this system kills two birds with one stone. The system is based upon an elongated Arca Swiss plate that attaches to the bottom of your camera with a standard 1/4″ screw, and then any strap of your choosing attaches to the eyelets on either end of the plate.
The SPINN.DESIGN camera carrying system can be worn on your person just like any other camera sling, but because the strap attaches to the bottom of the camera and is fixed to both ends of the plate, gone will be the days where you camera in spinning, tumbling, and otherwise being a literal pain in the neck. According to SPINN.DESIGN, the placement of the strap will keep it firmly in place as you move through your day.
Another benefit of having the straps attach to both ends of the bottom plate is that, when you pick up your camera to use it, the straps will naturally fall out of the way of your eyes and the controls of the camera. According to SPINN.DESIGN this can save precious seconds and be the difference between missing or nailing the shot you want. Of course with the plate being an Arca Swiss compatible mount, you can just attach your camera straight onto a compatible tripod with minimal fuss, which isn’t something that can be said about other straps that attach to you camera via the 1/4″ screw mount. It also means you won’t have to keep up with your tripod mounting plate.
A quick visit to the campaigns Kickstarter page will show you that a strap like this is in demand. Having launched just a short while ago, the camera carrying system has already surpassed its original goals of $5,666, with pledges of $7,791 having already been made. There are still 39 days (at the time of writing) to go in this campaign.
As with all Kickstarter campaigns, there are different levels for you to make your pledge. A pledge of $54 (early bird pricing) will get you the camera carrying system, a bag, and an alan wrench. If you miss out on the early bird special you can still grab one for $59. Go up to $84 and you’ll get the camera mounting system and a heavy duty camera strap as well. The highest pledge available is for $313 for which you’ll receive four mounting plates and mounting accessories, and four camera straps.
