These new zoom and prime Tamron lenses will expand an already impressive lens library.
If you’re a fan of Tamron lenses you will love this news. Tamron has just announced that three new lenses will be coming to market by mid 2019. There will be two Tamron lenses for traditional DLSRs: the 35-150mm f2.8-f4 Di VC OSD and a 35mm f1.4 Di USD. There will also be another new lens made specifically for Sony E Mount cameras: the 17-28mm F2.8 Di III RXD.
Tamron has been making quality lenses for a long time, and their three new lenses will no doubt please fans of their work. While no prices have been listed for the upcoming lenses just yet, some details about the lenses have been released.
The first of the new Tamron lenses is the 35-150mm f2.8-f4. This variable aperture zoom lens has somewhat of an uncommon focal range, but it does cover everything from wide to telephoto lengths. The 35-150mm (model number A043) has been designed for easy transport and fast handling. It is being touted as somewhat of a do-it-all lens that covers favorite portrait, street, documentarian, and travel photography focal lengths. The lens has a minimal focusing distance of 17.7 inches across the entire focal range, and features low dispersion, and aspherical elements to manage aberrations. The lens also has a Dual MPU (micro processing unit) which should make autofocus performance snappy, and should provide great vibration compensation.
The 35mm f1.4 Di USD (model number F045) offers a classic focal length that is well suited to street photography, wedding photography, documentary photography, environmental portraits, and photo journalism. This lens features high speed, accurate autofocusing, and should be capable of producing sharp images, and nice bokeh wide open. The lens has been designed with durability and ease of use in mind. Prime lens lovers should be excited about this one.
The last of the new Tamron lenses is the 17-28mm F2.8 Di III RXD (model number A046) for Sony E Mount cameras. Following on from the successful Tamron 28-75 f2.8 Di RXD, the 17-28mm f2.8 will same to offer the same performance for wide angle lovers. This lens has a filter thread size of 67mm, and the constant f2.8 aperture will make low light shooting easy. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of just 7.5-inches, and the RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping drive) autofocus motor should deliver rapid focusing speeds.
All three of these new Tamron lenses will make their debuts at the upcoming at CP+ 2019, beginning February 28 through March 3, 2019, and at the Wedding and Portrait Professionals International (WPPI), which runs from February 27 through March 3, 2019 in Las Vegas.
