Following the successful launch of Kosmo Foto Mono 35mm film back in 2017, Medium Format users have been hoping that the emulsion would one day make its way to their platform. If you’re one of those people who have been wishing for it, you’ll be pleased to hear that Kosmo Foto have just announced that the Kosmo Foto Mono 120 version of this popular film will indeed to making its way to the world of Medium Format cameras. Since launching in 2017 over 15,000 rolls of the Kosmo Foto Mono 35mm film have been sold. The success of this product spurred Kosmo Foto’s owner, Stephen Dowling to bring the emulsion to the 120 marketplace. Stephen Dowling said:
“Almost as soon as I announced Kosmo Foto Mono in the summer of 2017, I had people asking if I was going to bring out a 120 version. Iâm really glad to be able to finally bring the film out for medium format shooters and canât wait to see their results”.
This is huge news for those who shoot Medium Format. Having more quality film options to choose from is always plus. For those who have perhaps shot the 35mm version of this film, you might be wondering if the same levels of grain and contrast will be found in the Kosmo Foto Mono 120 version of this emulsion. You can rest easy knowing that the 120 variety has been made to the exact same specifications as the original, and that it can be used in any Medium Format film camera.
The Kosmo Foto Mono 120 will come in incredibly cool, retro inspired packaging which was designed by My Mate Does Art. The first batches of the film will be available in May 2019, but it can be pre-ordered right now at a special introductory price of just 4.50 GBP (roughly $5.75) per roll, plus shipping and handling.

KOSMO FOTO LAUNCHES KOSMO FOTO MONO 120
After the hugely successful release of Kosmo Foto Mono 35mm in 2017, Kosmo Foto is delighted to announce a 120 version of the film is now available to pre-order.
The film is the exact same emulsion used for the 35mm version, and features eyecatching packaging produced by designer My Mate Does Art.
The first batch of the film is currently being produced and will be in stock in May, but medium format fans can pre-order the film now at a special introductory price.
The film is suitable for all medium format cameras â from Holgas to Hasselblads â and can be developed in a range of black-and-white developers. (See the Kosmo Foto Mono development chart)
The 35mm version of Mono has been a huge success, with more than 15,000 rolls being sold in the first year to distributors, retailers and private customers across the world. Now that old-school grain and pleasing contrast can be shot in medium format aswell.
