The Apple iPhone 7 Camera Boasts an f1.8 Lens

Today, we finally got to see and hear all the new details on the Apple iPhone 7. Of specific note is the camera on the iPhone 7 Plus: which features a dual camera system on the back–which were indeed proven true by the rumors.

Here are all the details you care about.

Camera Tech Specs

  • Dual camera system
  • Optical image stabilization
  • f1.8 aperture lens
  • New six element lens
  • High speed sensor, 12MP 60% faster and 30% more energy efficient
  • Quad LED True Flash that can compensate for ambient light
  • Image Signal processor has twice the throughput as before, which works well for multiple things overall
  • Video image stabilization in Live Photos
  • You can now edit Live Photos
  • RAW DNG files
  • Wide Color Capture API
  • Front camera is a 7MP Facetime HD camera
  • New color that takes advantage of more of what’s possible than with sRGB

iPhone 7 Plus

  • Two lenses: one wide and one Telephoto
  • Optical zoom at 2x, but 10x for digital zoom if you choose
  • Same as the other iPhone 7 otherwise

New Bokeh feature

The new portrait style uses the new portrait effect and makes everything else out of focus. It renders the scene in real life.
