In an effort to keep up with the latest trends, Polaroid has unveiled several new products at this yearâs CES. Not only have they confirmed the release of the Polaroid Socialmatic, they have also unveiled their latest answer to GoPro–the Polaroid Action Sports Cameras, a line of action cameras that are supposedly waterproof, shockproof, and virtually indestructible.
From this line is the C3, a miniature cube camera that is only a little bigger than a donut hole and can capture 720p HD video as well as still images at 5 megapixels with just a simple push of a button. The camera features a 120-degree wide-angle lens, a 2MB internal storage (or at least that’s what The Verge reports–though we reckon it might be a typo for 2GB,) a microSD card slot to expand the memory, a microphone, and an LED light. As an added feature, each unit is magnetic so that you can stack them together in several different ways and use multiple units to capture your action shots in different angles. They also come in different colors and in Polaroidâs trademark quirky design, which will probably make them more appealing to the younger crowd.
While the C3s do not have display capabilities, which might make them a bit tricky to use at first, and there is no still word on the their battery life, these cameras will hit the market this summer at $99 per unit so weâll just have to wait and see.
