IBC is currently in full swing, and just in time for the start, Schneider is announcing some new cinema lenses for full frame DSLRs. In total, the company is launching five new primes in the form of a T2.1/35mm, T2.1/50mm and T2.1/75mm which will be available from the second half of 2013. The other are are a T2.1/25mm wide angle and a T2.1/100mm telephoto lens and are due to hit the shops in early 2014.
Schneider is also stating that more focal lengths will be coming in the form of a macro lens and more. The lenses all have 14 aperture blades, an an M95 filter thread.
But here’s the crazy thing: the press release states that they were developed for 4K video production. The lenses will come in Canon EF, Nikon F or PL mount–and neither Canon or Nikon have a DSLR that shoots 4K yet with the exception of Canon C500 Cinema EOS camcorder. However, there are other camcorders that can also takes these mounts.
More images of the lenses are after the jump. No other specs have been given.
