This morning, Mirrorless Rumors is reporting on possible full frame lenses that may be coming out. They’re stating that three full frame lenses lenses will be announced from Zeiss and that the other one one is a Sony G lens. The rumor continues to state that the APS-C lens is the 16-70mm f/4.0 Zeiss that will be priced around $1,000. Since this rumor is on Mirrorless Rumors, it could also imply that the lenses will be for the NEX mount, but that isn’t made specifically clear. The news comes in conjunction with a Sony Electronics Press Event that the Phoblographer received today as well. We’ll be in attendance on September 4th, where the company states that they will reveal news in imaging, computers, television and audio.
But for what it’s worth, we see lots of time being dedicated to just audio. However, we’re crossing our fingers. Could full frame NEX lenses really be coming this soon? If they do, then Sony is going to absolutely dominate the mirrorless category–and Fujifilm and Micro Four Thirds may need to start worrying.
