We’ve already seen an f1.8 APS-C zoom lens come from Sigma, and it was only a matter of time until someone asked this question: what about a full frame version? Well according to a rumor that Canon Rumors has gotten hold of, a 24-70mm f2 zoom lens might be in the works. The only other F2 zooms that have ever come out have been by Olympus for their Four Thirds line of cameras, but those are for a smaller sensor. However, we think that it is totally possible with the innovations and ideas that have happened as of recently with lens manufacturing.
While many folks are still clamoring for a 24-70mm f2.8 with IS or VC, consider the fact that Tamron has already done so: and done a damned good job with it.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
