News from Lighting Rumors is telling us that a brand new RadioPopper is coming and that it will be insanely powerful. RadioPopper’s other units mostly offer TTL transmission, but these ones will be all manual. And apparently, they’ll boast a 500 meter range.
Now honestly, who the heck needs that?
The new units will be coined the RadioPopper Nano, and apparently the price point is going to be under $100. Apparently, it is meant to compete with Pocket Wizard’s Plus X and more affordable systems from China. Even better, the units will sport a hot shoe for flashes and a 3.5mm sync jack for studio strobes.
The company published a blog post about them being used by photographer Bob Davis–a personal hero of mine.
If you’ve got some time during your lunch break, check out the video below where they’re profiling the new trigger.
