Photo Samples: Ricoh GXR with Leica M-Mount A12 Photographs Hurricane Irene’s Effects
This posting is literally just an image dump. I’ve had the Ricoh GXRwith A12
unit to mount Leica M mount lenses on for a little bit, and now that Hurricane Irene seems to have died down in Queens, NY I took it out for a bit of a spin. These images are largely unedited with the exception of resizing for the web. The entire gallery is after the jump. A full series of reviews is coming soon.
Hat tip to Gabe Biderman for the Leica lens loaners.

Field Review: Olympus E-5 (Day 4)
So far in the review we’ve found out that the Olympus E-5 is a tough cookie from Day 3, that the raw image files are very versatile, and we’re beyond the first impressions. But the E-5 has a much sexier side to it. There are art filters built into the camera. The chart above can be clicked on (and shared) to show off the effects on one image. This will literally be nothing else but a huge image dump with other samples from each filter.
Samples Images from the Leica 50mm F/0.95 Noctilux and 90mm F/2 Summicron
After trying the D-LUX 5 at Photo Plus Expo 2010, I had the opportunity to shoot with two very legendary lenses in the Leica lineup. The 50mm F/0.95 Noctilux is the fastest lens available in the lineup and the 90mm F/2 has been touted as one of the sharpest lenses the manufacturer makes. See the samples below, all of which were shot wide open.
Samples of the Noktor F0.95 Lens Available on Flickr
Samples of the Noktor F0.95 lens for Micro Four Thirds have appeared on Flickr. We’ve been very excited about this lens for a while in our postings and we know for a fact that Steve Huff is getting one soon. Those of you interested in Micro Four Thirds and the format should surely check this out. On a personal point of view note: I think this lens needs to be stopped down a bit for better sharpness.
Update: Here’s a video shot with the lens using the Panasonic GH1. Noktor – Shoot Wide Open from Noktor on Vimeo.
