Manfrotto has recently announced their Lino line of apparel for female photographers. While they aren’t really the most stylish of items, the line of products seem to have an emphasis on productivity and functionality vs style. Here’s a quick rundown of the new items:

PRO AIR JACKET – $159.00

The Pro Air Jacket is a breathable wind and waterproof jacket that folds into its own integrated compact pouch

PRO PONCHO – $149.99

The Pro Poncho is a wind and waterproof poncho designed to protect the photographer and her gear from any weather conditions.

A few weeks ago, I reviewed Manfrotto’s wildly expensive yet impressive Lino Pro Photo Gloves. As expected, the gloves performed quite well. Review: Manfrotto Q5 Photo/Video Tripod Head with 755CX3 Tripod

The Manfrotto Q5 tripod head was designed for photographers and videographers alike, i.e. the HDSLR crowd. Though I’m not typically a tripod user, I admit that tripods like the 755CX3 have their uses: such as for recording videos for the site. After receiving two Q5 units, the staff and I put the head and 755CX3 package to the test primarily in video shoots.

And the findings were a bit surprising.

Manfrotto is a company best known for their tripods and other photography accessories. But how many of you also knew that they manufactured apparel? Take for example the Manfrotto Lino Pro Photo Gloves. Though many photographers prefer to buy gloves and cut off the tops of the fingers, these gloves don’t do that. Instead, they embrace covering your entire hand and claim to allow you to still have full versatility.

Review: Manfrotto 701 HDV

 

More and more photographers are starting to use their cameras to record video. Before I started shooting video I was like most photographers and bought a normal ball head for my tripod. A ball head works great for still photography as it allows for quick and easy adjustments, but I soon realized that it doesn’t work well for video. The ball head was harder to get level and keep level while panning. As I started recording more videos I looked on the Internet for good video heads that would fit on my tripod. I have a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod so I started looking at what Manfrotto had to offer.
