Back in September, YouTube User C Led decided to upload a video to the sharing site detailing how to get a lens off and on a camera super fast, “just like the pros do.” He starts off by first talking about how you need to have professional gear in order to be a professional and that it’s actually completely mandatory. He continues to adhere to this statement by cutting to a scene of him with a 1D series camera around his neck. Then he demonstrates his technique while using the new Canon 24-70mm f2.8 II L (reviewed here), which seems to in fact work pretty damned well…until hilarity strikes.
From my years of being a pro as a wedding photographer and paparazzo, I’ve mastered the art of changing lenses while on the move. From experience, I can tell you that it is indeed not easy to do and takes a lot of hand/eye coordination; and I did this while walking from one location to another. The best thing to do though is have two camera bodies on you with different focal lengths.
Check out the video after the jump.
