Back around CES, Canon announced the Powershot N–which was a totally new concept and take on connected photography for them. When we played with it, the camera seemed extremely unusual but in an extremely exciting and appealing way. But yesterday, the company showed us their minor evolution of the product. It’s called the Powershot N Facebook Ready. Like they did with the Canon T4i Mk II T5i, it is the same camera as the N with a special and minor update. Said update is the inclusion of a Facebook upload button.
And that’s it. At its core, it still has the same 12.1MP imaging sensor, 8x optical zoom, tilting 2.8 inch LCD screen, interesting shutter placement, DIGIC 5 processor, wifi connectivity etc.
As a result, Canon will be selling this directly only–which means that you won’t see this travelling down the trolley at B&H Photo any time soon. When it drops in September, you’ll have to fork over $299.99 to become an even bigger Facebook whore than you already are.
