ioShutter, the world’s first shutter release system for iPhone and iPad announced back in November 2011, is now available for Canon, Samsung, Pentax and Hasselblad Cameras. The ioShutter system combines a proprietary iOS software with a shutter release cable that connects your iPhone or iPad to your camera, enabling you to control your camera’s shutter from your iOS device.
With the accompanying ioShutter iOS app, you can not only remote-release your camera’s shutter, you can also program the software to snap pictures at timed intervals (for timelapse photography), to release the shutter at a pre-scheduled time or take long exposures without the risk of inducing movement by touching your camera. Additionally, the ioShutter app comes with two special functions with the rather catchy designations ClapToSnap and ShakeToTake — I guess these are quite self-explanatory.
