Recently, MPIX launched Photo Puzzles, which is a seriously fun way to get people into buying your photos and a very playful way of interpreting the art form. We’ve seen photographers turn their work into puzzles for several years now, but not many brands offer it to their customers. Indeed, they’re not really considered to be high art or wall-decor. Instead, photo puzzles fall more into the fun-factor space. However, we can imagine that with the right mounting, photo puzzles could be a truly intriguing way to display your photographs.

The Fun of It All!

Believe it or not, we’ve seen photo puzzles before used in pop-up galleries. They’re often used with a few pieces purposely missing in order to draw attention to the print. When combined with the right framing and lighting, photo puzzles are a very unique way of displaying an image. We can imagine someone wanting to do a photo puzzle of a fun recent lifetime event that was documented. However, it could also work if someone wants to purchase landscape prints, street photography prints, etc. Specifically, it would work very well for fine art. The company recommends it for wedding gifts; though I’m not sure what couple would do these on top of all the other tasks they’ve got when moving into a new home together.
The Photo Puzzles have a high gloss finish. That means that when they’re completed, they’re best viewed using indirect lighting or lighting that’s coming from on top. You can see what I mean in our guide to lighting a print in your home.
The new MPIX Photo puzzles range between approximately $45 to $60. And they’re available now for purchase on MPIX’s website.
