Compact cameras are the need of the hour for many photographers. They are not just models that help one relive the good old days, but continue to be the best options for those wanting some incredible images. If you are someone keen on buying one, then there are a few cameras that you will like.
Canon G1X Mk III
The Canon PowerShot series has been popular in many ways. The Canon G1X Mk III features an APS-C camera with 24MP resolution and a 24-72mm zoom lens. A weather sealed camera, the system also offers a good focusing system that works well in most situations. There is also good image quality, which means the output is colorful and clean. To get some unique photos, you get a good lens filter. With in-camera scene modes, you get distinct photos on the go.
Fujifilm X70

Fujifilm has introduced some wonderful cameras and the X70 features a 16MP X-Trans II sensor along with a 28mm f2.8 lens. The device has a good design, fits right into your palm, and is ideal for travel, street photography, documentary and more. The point and shoot is ideal and has an accurate focusing system in bright light. The lens offers nice bokeh and sharpness and the colors from JPEG are incredible. With film simulation, you get the best result on the camera.
Canon S95
Another PowerShot model, the S95 was introduced in 2010, along with a 10MP 1/1.7-inch CCD sensor and a 28-140mm lens. In our recent review, the S95 offers a good autofocus, and the images are worth posting online. You get nice colors, enough details, and decent high ISO performance. Pixel-peepers won’t find much here. The in-camera HDR offers striking photos, and it can be used as a second camera for most photography enthusiasts.
Leica X2
Leica cameras can be quite expensive but the Leica X2 is not as such. It offers a 16MP APS-C sensor, a 24mm f2.8 lens, and it also just weighs 350g. The camera looks stunning, has a clean design with good buttons, making it ideal for everyday use. The photos are fantastic, the dynamic range is also pretty good, and the RAW files give you enough to recover details. The battery life is wonderful, and you can always use the electronic viewfinder if need be.
Fujifilm X30
Some of the best compact cameras come from Fujifilm and the X30 is one such model. It offers a 12MP 2/3-inch CMOS II, a 28-112mm zoom lens, and feels great in every way in your hands. The focusing speed is decent, and it is also quite accurate in most lighting situations. The EVF makes it easy to shoot with AF. The images are pretty good with this sensor, the colors are quite nice and versatile, and the high ISO results are pretty great. The RAW files make everyday shooting fun and engaging. As we added, “But also keep in mind that if you want a great travel camera that makes it tough to mess up the image taking process, then the 1/2-inch sensor may be the one for you.”
