Digital cameras are becoming important for those who want to leave their phones behind. Whether it is a full frame, an instant camera or a compact camera, there are various options to choose from. However, if you are someone who wants a step-up only from your phone, these four models will be of help. Best of all, they’re retro!
Sony RX1

The Sony RX1 features a 24MP, a 35mm f2 lens, 5fps of burst rate, and a 3-inch LCD. The device has all the buttons and dials on the compact camera, and you can attach an EVF. The device has a nice built, feels solid in your hands, and your lens has an aperture ring on the lens. The contrast detection works well in low light, but the autofocus is accurate and can track people well enough. The image quality is nice, and the RAW files can help retrieve details from underexposed scenes. You can shoot 200 images from a single charge.
Fujifilm XF1

The Fujifilm compact camera comes with a 12MP 2/3-inch sensor, ISO up to 12800, and a 25-100mm lens. Ergonomically, the device has a nice simple design, is pocketable, and has a slim body. The autofocus is quite accurate, works well in daylight, as well in low light. Fujifilm has all the important dials and buttons on the device, along with a large screen. The colors and tones are fantastic, the lens results in sharp lenses. You have the chance to make RAW files, but it is better to work with JPEGs. As we said in our review, “For direct file usage from JPEGs and a satisfying user experience with full manual capability that is easily controlled through physical controls (as well as great auto modes), the Fujifilm XF1 is the pocket camera for you and your loved ones this year.”
Sony RX100

The Sony camera is the first of the budget-friendly compact cameras from the company. It houses a 20MP 1-inch sensor with a 28-100mm lens. The images from the camera are very sharp, even when cropped. “Images from the camera are comparable to DSLRs that I owned just a few years ago,” we said in our review. The device works best under ISO 6400, and can work with high contrast black and white effects. The device seems fantastic for those who need a DSLR replacement but at a lower price.
Leica D-Lux 6

The Leica camera is one of the more expensive offerings on this list. The device has a 1/1.7-inch 12MP sensor, along with 24-90mm lens. The compact camera is sleek, has no grip, and is small enough to be pocketed with ease. The camera is made of metal, is lightweight, and you can focus the camera using the manual focus. The point and shoot takes some beautiful images, and the camera works the best during the day. Given its price, this is a luxury camera designed for people who want to carry lenses. And it is better used for day activities than at night. On eBay, the camera is under $500.
