Over the past few years, there have been some wonderful cameras in the industry. While some camera launches have been expensive, some have been quite useful to photographers of different calibers. If you are someone who is looking to invest in a full frame camera, then here are some options that you will like. They hold up their value even today, and are an amazing choice for serious photographers.
Canon R5

The Canon R5 features a 45MP CMOS sensor, comes with 5.76 Million Dots OLED EVF, and can shoot 8K videos. The device has nice weather sealing, has multiple RAW modes, and has a fast focus. The camera can track people, birds, animals, and vehicles and more. With each update, the autofocus improved, making it still the most sought-after camera even today. The Canon R5 also creates beautiful JPEGs, and renders details well with high ISO. As we added in the review, “Editing the raw files showed us that you can get a lot of detail from both the highlights and shadows. But you’re best off getting them from one or the other and not both. The best part: the color depth.” The R5 is still the best camera, despite the successor in the game.
Nikon Z7 II

A 45MP camera, the Z7 II offers 5-axis image stabilization and 4K video. The camera is lighter than the Nikon D850. The camera offers a good grip, has a nice magnesium alloy body with weather-sealing. The camera can focus down to -4 EV, has a good low light autofocus, and does well when focusing on people on a wedding dance floor. The image quality offers a good dynamic range, and the colors are similar to the Nikon D850, which means they are good. The camera offers good RAW files and “acceptably sharp at ISO 6400.” We further added, “Hands down, the best part of the Z system is the spectacular sharpness that comes from the lenses. To really make the Z7 II worth it, you should factor in a lens or two into your budget.”
Sony a7R V

Another high resolution offering, the Sony a7R V 61MP sensor, can create 240.8MP composites, and has a 9.44 million dot viewfinder with a 120fps refresh rate. The AI processing unit is good, and you get nice weather sealing like other Sony cameras. Speaking about the autofocus, we added in our review, “Its 693-point high-density phase AF does everything better. Focusing is much swifter and more accurate in a variety of lighting conditions.” The images offer beautiful colors and contrast. The photos are sharp, and the skin tones are accurate, and you can pull out a lot of detail from RAW files. The a7R V is ideal for landscapes, portraits, and events, amongst other things.
Leica M11P

The Leica M11-P offers 256GB of internal storage, has a 61MP sensor, a 2.3MP LCD screen, and comes with Content Authentication Initiative. The camera has all the controls, is identical to the M11, and is a manual camera. The images are a lot like the ones seen on M9, and the colors are vibrant. “Everything I shoot looks like a painting in a way that’s sufficiently distinct from the Fujifilm Velvia film simulation on their cameras. With that said, the images are saturated, deep, and beautiful,” we also revealed in our review. Overall, the M11-P is the most promising camera until its successors come along.
