NAB 2026 is upon us and one of the brands showcasing at the Las Vegas Convention Center this year is Brightin Star. The third-party lens brand has revealed that they are not only showcasing lenses that have been previously released, but two new wide-angle lenses as that perfect for landscape photographers. Have a look.
According to the lens brand, the new lenses include 12mm f2.8 and a new version of the 28mm f2.8.
A Wide Wonder

The 12mm f2.8 is an AF lens that features an STM motor for fast autofocus. There is also an AF/MF switch and a customizable FN button for seamless operation. The lens yields a 122.5° field of view, which is perfect for landscapes, architecture, interiors, and astrophotographers. Here’s a quick look at its specs:
- Focal Length: 12mm
- Maximum Aperture: F2.8
- Minimum Aperture: F16
- Format: Full Frame
- Angle of View: 122.5°
- Minimum Focus Distance: 0.3m / 0.98ft
- Optical Design: 15 Elements in 11 Groups, including HRI, ED (HOYA), and ASPH lenses, with advanced IMC coating
- Aperture Blades: 7
- Focus Type: Autofocus (AF)
- Mount: Sony E / Nikon Z
- Diameter: Approx. 70mm
- Height: Approx. 96.6mm
- Weight: Approx. 499g
The new lens is said to have a durable construction, with a “rear sealing for dust and moisture resistance.” The lens is likely to be priced under $500, which means photographers who want a second wide angle option will certainly rely on it. The other brand that offers a 12mm is Astrhori, but that is a fisheye lens with visible distortion. In that regard, Brightin Star’s 12mm can truly be ideal for photographers who do not wish to work with distortion.
The Silver Edition

Brightin Star is also introducing a new silver edition of its popular pancake lens, the 28mm f2.8. The original lens was introduced in black color for rangefinder cameras, and the silver lens hopes to elevate the aesthetics of a vintage model. It is a perfect lens for street photographers who want to be discreet but also want a lens that stands out amongst the crowds. It is an ideal formal range for travel and documentary photographers, or anyone who does not wish to carry excess gear. This is an all-metal built lens which offers a “premium tactile feel in every detail.” Here’s a quick look at its specs:
- Format: Full Frame
- Angle of View: 75.3°
- Minimum Focus Distance: 0.7m
- Optical Design: 6 Elements in 5 Groups
- Aperture Blades: 9
- Focus Type: Manual Focus (MF)
- Mount: Leica M
- Finish: Silver Surface
- Series: Brightin Slim Pro-M
- Height: Approx. 51.4mm
- Body Protrusion Thickness: Approx. 9.9mm
- Weight: Approx. 125g
Designed for Leica, the lens is perfect for photographers who want focal range but without the weight of a bright aperture. In fact, this is perfect for those who also want a budget offering compared to the existing 28mm offered by Leica.
Protection Against Your Lens

In addition to the lenses, Brightin Star is also unveiling a new AERO UV filter that is light and thin. It weighs 4g, has a brass filter ring of 39mm and a 1.5mm profile. It is equipped with a 28-layer double-sided IMC Nano coating and SCHOTT B270 ultra-thin optical glass, both of which help to reduce challenges such as low light transmission, color cast, flare, and ghosting.
The AERO filter is designed for aesthetics as well as better grip. It is constructed using a 20% lower thermal expansion coefficient for durability. Moreover, it has Nano coatings to beat fingerprint marks, as well as being water-resistant and oil-repellent. And it comes in colors such as black and silver.
Brightin Star will also be showcasing its existing lenses, such as the 50mm f2 Tri-sight and APO M 35mm f1.7. If you are someone who is planning to buy a new lens, then you must check out their stall at NAB. If anyone of these lenses have gotten your attention, then do have a look at their website for more.
