Full-frame cameras are in demand. They offer a lot of detail, good colors, lightweight, and excellent ergonomics. While there are plenty of cameras to choose from, we examine a few options from three years ago that can still stand on their own today. If you are looking to buy a new full-frame camera that can do it all, these options will be of interest. Have a look.
Leica M11

The Leica M11 is an excellent offering for many serious photographers. One of the features it offers is the ability to shoot in three different resolutions: 60MP, 36MP, and 18MP. You get a burst rate of 4.5fps, a 2.3MP LCD, and 64GB of internal storage memory. It is lightweight, offers a big viewfinder, but it lacks weather sealing. With zone focusing, you get more hits than misses. The image quality is great; the colors are designed to mimic Kodachrome, and you get plenty of dynamic range to work with. As we said, “Using a Leica camera is a tactile experience first and foremost. You’ll love it just from holding it. Pressing your hands into the cold metal during an NYC winter will remind you that you’re using a real camera that will last a while.”
Sony a7r V

The Sony A7R V is another full-frame camera that offers a high megapixel count. The camera features a 61MP sensor, BIONZ XR processor, 15-stop dynamic range, and 240MP composite image capability. The device offers excellent ergonomics, features multiple buttons, provides an extra grip, and is weather-resistant. The camera offers swifter and more accurate focusing, and it can work in various lighting situations. It is also good for tracking animals, vehicles, as well as people. The sensor offers exceptional detail, sharpness, and excellent color reproduction. At higher ISOs, you also get tighter grain and far less color noise. As we said, “I appreciate that Sony aims to cut down precious editing time and get creatives back behind the camera. It’s particularly great to see the company creating another camera that will satisfy hybrid content creators. I would rather spend money on lenses than an extra camera body.”
Canon EOS R6 Mk II

The Canon R6 II features a 24MP full-frame sensor, 12 fps continuous shooting, 5-axis image stabilization, and 4K video recording capabilities. The camera is compact, fits easily in your hands, and is extremely weather-sealed. The R6 II withstands flawlessly in -20 degree windchills. The autofocus is accurate and comes with excellent job tracking for people, animals, birds, and vehicles. The device offers accurate white balance, the skin tones are fantastic, and the dynamic range produces tones that touch on every level of the zone system. RAW files are versatile; you can easily recover highlights, and the images of the Canon EOS R original and the Canon R6 II are very comparable. As we said in our review, “Images are sharp, with accurate skin tones and beautiful colors. Videographers, hybrid creators, and still photographers will appreciate the Canon EOS R6 Mk II as the brand’s newest all-around workhorse. It’s excellent for portraits, landscapes, real estate, photojournalism, and street photography.”
