Canon cameras have always been great. Today, we discuss the devices that have actually been instrumental in winning a global photography contest. If you’re looking to buy a new camera, these offerings can be of help to you. The devices on the list are a mix of DSLR and mirrorless cameras, and despite the years of difference, these devices are spectacular in their own way. Have a look at them.
Canon R5
The Canon R5 features a 45MP sensor, DIGIC X processor, and ISO of 102400. There are also 1,053 AF Areas, along with features for detecting people and animals. The camera features a 5.76 million-dot OLED, 8K video recording, 5-axis image stabilization, and a 12fps burst rate. The camera is built well, has excellent battery life, and feels very good in the hand. There is a wonderful menu; it can capture excellent details, is weather-sealed, and very reliable. The device also does not heat up when you shoot videos. As we said, ” Editing the raw files showed us that you can get a lot of details from both the highlights and shadows. But you’re best off getting them from one or the other and not both. The best part: the color depth.” The device has helped to win Bird Photographer of the Year, World Press Photo, and Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
Canon 1D X Mark II
The Canon EOS 1D X Mark II features a 20MP full-frame sensor, offers a Dual DIGIC 6+ processor, and comes with 61 AF points. ISO expandable up to 409,600, and a burst rate of 16fps. The DSLR can record 4K video at 60fps, features a 3-inch 1.62 million-dot LCD, and includes a 0.76x magnification EVF. We have not tested the device, so we cannot discuss its performance. However, it has been beneficial for photographers to win the World Press Photo 2022 and Wildlife Photography Awards 2024.
Canon R6
The Canon EOS R6 features a 20MP sensor, DIGIC X processor, and 6072 AF selectable points. It has a burst rate of 20fps, an extended ISO of 204,800, and 8 stops of image stabilization. The device comes with a 3.69 million-dot EVF and a 1.62 million-dot LCD. The device features fantastic ergonomics, a great build, and offers excellent autofocus, which is on par with Sony’s. There is also a 4K video option, an easy-to-use touch screen menu, and excellent image quality. As we said in our review, “The Canon EOS R6 receives our Editor’s Choice Award. Canon 5D Mk IV
The Canon 5D Mk IV comes from a series of legendary cameras. The device features a 30MP sensor, has an ISO of up to 102,400, and can record 4K videos at 30fps. There is also 7fps of burst rate, 61 AF points, and a 150,000-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor. The camera offers excellent image quality, and one can achieve more with it in terms of color than with Sony and Fujifilm. The ergonomics are great, so is the autofocus, and you get an LCD with a touchscreen. The weather sealing is much better, too. The device helped win the World Press Photo 2022 and 2021, as well as the Wildlife Photography Award 2024.
