We have been looking at Google Trends for some time now, and we have noticed how every week, there are certain cameras, including compact cameras, that often blow up some searches in the United States. So, today, we look at a few cameras, which over the past week of writing this article, have been searched for by American citizens. Some names you may have heard or seen before, while some cameras come from an era gone by. Either way, these cameras continue to pique our interest.
Sony DSC-T200

Sony has had some great compact cameras, with the DSC-T200 being an example of this. The camera features a 1/2.5-inch Type CCD sensor with 8MP resolution, and comes with a Zeiss 35-175 mm (35 mm equiv) lens. The device has Super SteadyShot for stabilization, has 9-point autofocus, multiple scene and white balance modes, as well as a 3.5-inch 230,000 pixels touch-sensitive 16:9 TFT screen. As we said in our review, “The Sony T200 has a lot to offer with its 8-megapixel sensor, it can easily produce 16×22 prints. It’s an ultraportable camera that can easily fit into just about any pocket and if going incognito is your goal, no one will ever think twice about this pocket wonder. The T200 ticks off a lot of the right boxes for someone looking for a fun, everyday carry that inspires them to create art – it has great functionality, it’s extremely stylish.”
Fujifilm XS20

Fujifilm XS20 is another interchangeable lens camera that we have often spotted on Google Trends. The device houses a 26MP X Trans APS-C 4th generation sensor, a 2.36 million dot EVF with a 100fps refresh rate, and AI scene detection for better images. It has 7 stops of IBIS, an 18-55mm kit lens, and no weather sealing. In our review, we found the device to feel great in one’s hands, affordable, and can make great images. However, we did not like its lack of weather sealing and slow autofocus.
Nikon 1 V3

Launched in 2014, the Nikon 1 V3 is an interchangeable lens camera with an 18MP APS-C sensor and a rangefinder-style body. It also has a burst rate of 60fps, ISO up to 12,800, and a 3-inch 1,037,000-dot LCD. It can record 1080/60p HD videos, has an inbuilt flash with sync speed of 1/250 sec, and a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000 sec. This camera is ideal for those who want a small rangefinder device that can take on both smaller and big lenses alike. People who like to travel and street photography will certainly take it into consideration.
Panasonic ZS70

Panasonic ZS70 is a 1/2.3 inch 20MP camera which features a Leica DC Vario‑Elmar 24-720mm lens. It has a continuous shooting speed of 10fps, Face/Eye detection, a 3-inch 1,040k-dot LCD, and an ISO up to 6400. It also features 4K Photo modes, 4K Live Cropping, Light Composition, as well as Panorama. In addition, we also get the opportunity to shoot 4k video, making it ideal for hybrid use.
Google Trends showcases how people are still looking for smaller sensor devices, many of which were launched a decade ago. This proves that the camera industry may have hit a fatigue, and it is time we rethink how we consume photography today.
