Instant cameras are truly magical. They allow you to capture and print the moment in real-time, while also providing you with a unique aesthetic that makes any modern scene appear like it was happening decades ago. The tactile experience also further helps solidify the moment you are living; thus, instant cameras have become part of many artists’ visual journeys. However, there are times when one is keen on buying an instant camera without a hefty price tag. So, here are a few offerings that may help you to pick the best one for yourself.
Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay

Like many instant cameras, the Mini LiPlay has a 1/5 type color filter and can shoot 850 images per 1 GB on a micro SD. The lens is 28mm, has a minimum focusing distance of 10cm, and there is a flash. Overall, the camera is compact, portable, has Bluetooth, is fun to use, and also offers good images. As we said in our review: “For approximately $160, you’re getting solid image quality along with reprintability and super small size from the Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay. I can’t really find a fault with it. It’s a beautiful camera that is simple to use.”
Fujifilm Instax Mini 70

Featuring a 60mm f12.7 lens, the Mini 70 can print 2.1 x 3.4-inch images, with the focusing range going from 30cm to 3 meters. You also get a built-in flash, a 0.37x viewfinder, and several shooting modes. The camera is really fun for anyone who needs a casual shooting device, and it also comes with a selfie mode. The high-key lighting is impressive, and with the flash, the results are interesting. As we said, “The image quality from this camera is much better than what we’ve seen from previous Instax Mini cameras with the exception of the Mini 90.”
Lomography Lomo’Instant Square

Lomography has some great instant cameras, with Lomo’Instant Square being one, which can be used with Fujifilm films. The camera gives an analog experience, comes with a 95mm lens, can shoot multiple exposures, and can be attached to a tripod, too. Unlike other cameras, Lomography has a cool design, offers a sharp lens, has several settings for your needs, and is quite compact. Our review concluded with: “I have to admit that if you were to take this image quality and put it against Fujifilm’s the Lomography Lomo’Instant Square will win hands down each and every time.”
Fujifilm Instax Pal

This is the smallest and cutest instant camera you can get your hands on. The Fujifilm Instax Pal features a 16.25 mm lens, has a USB Type-C port, and weighs just 41g. Unlike the other cameras, this device needs a Fujifilm printer to get the film. However, the images won’t appear as film-like as you want. “There’s something very, very digital about the Fujifilm Instax Pal. It feels like the old-school digital cameras that I used to use in college,” we said in our review. “And that’s a vibe in and of itself that people are going to like printing out. It’s all part of the fun here.” It is certainly a fun tool to carry to parties, especially when you don’t want to rely on your phone.
Fujifilm Instax Wide 400

The Wide 400 is for those who want larger pictures with a unique aesthetic. The camera has fewer controls; all you have to do is turn on the camera, understand the distance, and shoot. There is an onboard flash and viewfinder, which makes things easy. Overall, you get a device that is simple to use and has little hassle. As we said in our test, “Most of the time, when you’re shooting indoors, the camera will absolutely use a flash. The images remind me of photographs from the early 90s. Specifically, they look like disposable camera prints from that era.”
