The Mandalorian™ Polaroid Now camera will be joined by child themed instant i-Type color film too.
Ah, Star Wars. The epic space franchise that keeps on giving will be making waves again this Fall. The second season of The Mandalorian™ will be hitting TV’s around the country in late October. As you might expect, themed merchandise will be flooding shelves at the same time our new favorite Star Wars characters make their return. Polaroid (do you remember them?) has decided to get in on the themed gear action with a new Mandalorian™ Polaroid Now. This release will surely delight all who feel the force flowing through them. Join us after the break for all the details about this themed instant camera and some new child inspired film.
I have to admit, this is one partnership I did not see coming. However, I think it will generate a fair amount of interest with Star Wars fans. Hey, I’m not judging. I love the Mandalorian™, and Star Wars in general. I actually think the Mandalorian™ Polaroid Now camera looks pretty cool. Take a look at it below and see for yourself.
The Mandalorian™ Polaroid Now

The new Mandalorian™ inspired Polaroid Now is cased in colors and textures inspired by the Mandalorian’s™ Beskar armor. The Polaroid Now even features details that can be found in his armor. The Polaroid Now camera also features the latest analog technology with autofocus, double exposure, self-timer, and a dynamic flash.

The Mandalorian™ Polaroid Now camera is also joined with some new i-Type film. The film is inspired by ‘The Child” (or baby Yoda for those not in the know). The new i-Type film features eight color photographs with limited-edition frame designs. There are 12 frames to collect in total. Each frame displays sepia, purple, or green oil slick iridescent tones that are emblazoned with characters and symbols from the series.
Personally speaking, we’re very excited that it’s going to be shooting actual Polaroid film instead of the ZINK paper: there’s a huge difference. The i-Type film actually has a chemical darkroom-style process that happens. It’s also not great to use it when it’s too cold out.
Polaroid Might Be on to Something Here

Okay, yes, this all might seem like a little much. Some of you may even laugh and scoff at the new Polaroid Now. Still, I have to give props to Polaroid for trying to find their way in a very complex and competitive market. Instant film cameras certainly aren’t as popular as they once were. Now, manufacturers of instant film cameras have to do all they can to get their products in front of people. Why not piggyback on one of the greatest franchises in history? That’s a pretty smart move if you ask me. These cameras will sell like hotcakes, and serious collectors will keep them in their boxes, unopened for decades. That’s just how these things work. Polaroid will be laughing all the way to the bank. This strategy has made it clear that ‘this is the way’ for Polaroid going forward.

The Mandalorian™ Polaroid Now camera will be available on September 21st, 2020. The camera will sell for $119.99, while the film will cost $17.99 per pack.
