Your trusty Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras could be the among the winners of the EISA Awards 2018 – 2019.
The Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has recently announced the winners of the EISA Awards for 2018 – 2019, with Sony, Canon, and Nikon garnering several major awards, and Fujifilm and Panasonic winning in some key camera categories.
The biggest winner of them all was Sony, amassing seven awards throughout its range of products, with five of them being photography equipment. The A7III was declared EISA Camera of the Year, the A7R III snagged the EISA Professional Mirrorless Camera award, and the RX10 IV grabbed the Superzoom Camera award. Meanwhile, the company’s FE 16-35mm f2.8 GM and FE 100-400mm f4.5–5.6 GM OSS lenses were also given distinction as the best Mirrorless Wide Angle Zoom Lens and Mirrorless Telezoom Lens respectively.
Canon and Nikon are still winners in the DSLR categories, with the EOS 6D Mark II winning the DSLR Camera prize and Nikon getting the Professional DSLR Camera award. Canon EOS M50 was also declared as the Best Buy Camera, while the Canon EF 85mm f1.4L IS USM emerged as the best DSLR Prime Lens. The company completed its sweep of awards with the Speedlite 470EX-AI Flashgun being given the EISA Photo Innovation award. Nikon, meanwhile, snagged the EISA Professional DSLR prize for the D850, and the Professional Lens award for the AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f4E TC1.4 FL ED VR.
If you’re wondering which was the Best Mirrorless Camera among the rest, EISA awarded it to the Fujifilm X-H1. As for video capabilities, EISA found the Panasonic GH5s having the best and awarded it the Photo Video Camera award.
Other notable Photography prizes include the DSLR Telezoom Lens of the Year and Best Mirrorless Standard Zoom Lens of the Year, both awarded to Tamron for the 70-210mm f4 Di VC USD and the 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD respectively. Lastly, Sigma went home with the DSLR Zoom Lens award for the 14-24mm f2.8 DG HSM Art lens.
