Hey everyone,
We know you’ve all been waiting to see image samples from the brand new Sony a9 camera, and today we finally have the chance to release our first Sony a9 samples. We tested the Sony a9 with the Sony 35mm f2.8, 24-70mm f2.8 and the 70-200mm f2.8. A bit of this was also shot with the new 100-400mm lens too.
Check out the samples below.
So what do we think so far? When it comes to image samples the colors are fairly nice with the right lighting. We got to play with a prototype camera right after the announcement, and so the Sony a9 samples here are from a prototype. In fact, everyone’s photos are from a prototype.
Admittedly, I’m not a sports shooter and I don’t claim to be. I’m a portrait shooter and the portraits you see later on are my personal favorite. To be fair though, this camera is designed for photojournalists and sports shooters–so I’m going to be doing more tests as they pertain to event shooting and photojournalism.
If you’re used to the Sony a7r II you’ll probably look at the images from the Sony a9 on a computer and want more megapixels. But if you’re a Sony a7 user, you won’t have a problem really.
