Foldio 360

Creating 360 images has been really tough to do for many years now. It’s rather intensive because a person literally needs to shoot images all around the product. But a new Kickstarter is trying to change this. It’s called the Foldio 360.

To make it even easier, it’s letting you use your smartphone with an app or a camera using the infrared trigger.

When you’re all done, the app will stitch the images together, puts it on their website, and you’ll be able to share it from there. It’s pretty cool, and with this opens the genre up to even more creative possibilities rather than the cookie cutter 360 ideas.

If you’re shooting a DSLR or a mirrorless camera, this will obviously be different, but there are ways to make stitching easier. You’d also most likely want to shoot tethered to Adobe Lightroom via your computer, fix all the settings to be completely manual, etc. There is nothing worse than the white balance being off for one image.

The Foldio 360 has its own constant lighting and also has a special light that really makes the product stand out of the background.
